Spanish Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico
Surf and Yoga Retreat
March 20th- 27th
The following is our projected itinerary, and is subject to weather, wind, and the whims of the Captain and crew (that's you!)
Day 1:
Arrive at the marina in Fajardo by 4pm. After a brief boat orientation, we will have a lovely little sail over to Isla Piñeros, a small mountainous island surrounded by crystal clear emerald waters. As we experience our first sunset together aboard he boat, Tyler will lead us through a relaxing restorative yoga session.
Day 2:
Morning dips off the boat exploring the healthy coral reef at Isla Piñeros and then a sail over to Luis Peña, an uninhabited island and nature reserve on the island of Culebra. Tyler will lead us in a stretch before Coach Cano leads our first surfing lesson. Short sail over to a protected cove for snorkeling and sunset yoga.
Day 3:
Early sail over to Bahia Flamenco for a morning surf lesson. Leave your surfboards behind ( we will take care of that), and take the easy hiking trail over to Punta Tamarindo Grande. Punta Tamarindo Grand is a secluded beach with excellent snorkeling, and we will meet back at the boat with a beautiful lunch awaiting. After a day of snorkeling and swimming, Tyler will treat us with partner Thai massage before dinner.
Day 4:
Morning yoga and a swim off the boat, before heading to another cove in Culebra for our surf lesson. We
sail over to the Isla Culebrita for the rest of the day, an uninhabited island that is a part of the National Wildlife Refuge. Isla Culebrita is famous for its beaches, tide pools, reefs and nesting areas for seabirds as well as sea turtles.

Day 5:
After a short sail back over to Bahia Flamenco for our morning surf lesson, leave your boats aboard the boat and hit the Carlos Rosario Beach Trail (or rent a golf cart if you aren't into walking!). We will meet up in Ensenada Honda, a sleepy maritime village known for its laid back pace.
We will have a late afternoon or early evening yoga session with Tyler and dinner ashore tonight!

Day 6:
Morning yoga before sailing to Playa La Chiva on the island of Vieques. We will also have our surf lesson here, and as a bonus this is also a spot frequented by the wild horses that live on the island. We will hop over to Mosquito Bay to anchor for the evening, a bay that holds the record as the brightest bioluminescent bay on earth!

Day 7:
Morning surf lesson at Playa Esperanza, a locals favorite beach. We will then sail over to Punta Arena after a swim and snorkel, and land at one of the best sunset spots in Puerto Rico for our last yoga session and dinner together!
Check out is at 9am. Bon voyage!

Who is this trip for?
This type of trip is best for adventurous spirits who want to see the world from a different perspective and travel in one of the most romantic ways possible. Although the inside of the boat is welcoming and has plenty of space, we spend the majority of the time outdoors. It is important to know that although our chartered boats are excellent, being on a sailboat still feels more akin to "glamping" than being in a fancy hotel. We refrain from using the generator and AC at night, so that we can hear the ocean and peacefully watch the stars. Although the trip will be more of a container for adventure than a guided tour, we strive to understand and engage with the cultures we visit, rather than simply pass through as tourists.
Ferd and I feel that cooking on a boat is one of the most fun parts of being on a voyage, and we will take the lead for meals so that you can enjoy having no timeline for your vacation. However, we do ask that you submit one dish per cabin ahead of the voyage that you would enjoy making for the group, and we will make sure that you have those ingredients aboard the boat to make one lunch or dinner during our week together. That said, this is not a requirement, simply an invitation.
If that all sounds like you're kind of trip, then this voyage is for you! Again, if you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out.
